Dan Dakich spoke Thursday about Indy Star columnist Gregg Doyel and the bizarre interaction he had during Caitlin Clark's press conference with the Indiana Fever.
Doyel drew a lot of anger Wednesday when he made a heart symbol with his hand toward Clark — the same one she gave to her family during games.

On “Don't @ Me with Dan Dakich,” the OutKick host joined the chorus of people disturbed by the incident.
“That's who he is. That's what I told you. He doesn't change. Everything about him is scary. His life is scary, his family, everything. All that. You need to see him yesterday. It's a shame because, you know what, he thought it was OK to talk about it at a press conference… Why is that OK?
Dakich said the problem for him was not Doyel's “antics” at the press conference.
“The problem is: Why would a male journalist feel obligated to speak to a female athlete that way? Why is it acceptable for anyone to speak to Caitlin Clark or any female athlete that way? Later Thursday, a second comment from Doyel once again confused sports fans.
He called Clark “it” and “that” in a new video that surfaced while he was talking to Fever coach Christie Sides.
“We just gave you the keys,” Doyel told Sides, referring to Clark.
“What are you going to do with this?”

Doyel apologized for his behavior in an article on X and in a column published on the Indy Star website.
