Republicans are attacking independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. over a resurfaced video in which he claims that people living in red states are more likely to commit heinous crimes and “murder you”.
In a resurfaced videoposted Wednesday by former President Donald Trump's MAGA War Room X account, RFK Jr. is seen making disparaging comments about Republicans during a 2005 IdeaCity speech.
“People in the red state are more likely to murder you, get your teenage daughter pregnant, commit a violent crime against you, commit a nonviolent crime against you, watch Desperate Housewives on TV, buy pornography, buying degenerate video games like 'Grand Theft Auto,'” RFK Jr. told the crowd.
Social media users, including several Republican members of Congress, immediately hit back at what they called “divisive attacks.”

“I am proud to come from the most conservative state in America and represent the best of our country. The divisive attacks on RFK Jr. are disqualifying,” wrote Sen. John Barasso, R-Wyo., in an article in X.
“I'm proud to represent one of the reddest districts in Texas. RFK Jr.'s attacks on Red State America are not supported by any facts or reality. He is unhinged and more left-wing than Bernie Sanders! Texans will not forget!'” said Rep. Lance Gooden, R-Texas.
“The Hoosier State is as red as it gets,” Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind., a Senate candidate, posted on X. “Far-left RFK Jr’s baseless and disjointed attacks on the values of red-state America will be remembered in November.”
“RFK is no friend of conservative red states like West Virginia!” Riley Moore, Republican Party candidate for Congress in West Virginia, said. “Stop pretending this guy is a moderate.”

During his remarks, RFK Jr. called Saturday morning media pundits “gasbags” and claimed their comments about former President George W. Bush winning because red states were “morally robust” compared to “degenerate” blue states were “not true.” “
RFK Jr. went on to say that he looked at red states and blue states to determine which were “more moral” using criteria “that most of us use to judge morality.”
“I found that the lowest divorce rate in America was Massachusetts, a blue state. The highest divorce rate was Texas, a red state. The lowest teen pregnancy rate was Massachusetts the highest rate was Texas,” RFK Jr. added.

MAGA War Room released the video just days after RFK Jr. challenged Republican candidate Trump to a presidential debate, after the former president called the independent a “Democratic plant.”
RFK Jr. argued Wednesday that he, rather than Biden, was the only candidate capable of defeating Trump in November – and presented a new internal poll conducted by his campaign to make his point – announcing a “no-nonsense commitment spoiler.”
“It's a spoiler-free commitment that we're announcing today. It's a commitment that I propose to make if President Biden makes it as well,” Kennedy said at a press conference where the candidate did not answered no questions from journalists.
