Impact Day: AM showers, then weekend warm up

The weekend starts with an Impact Day and showers that will stick around through noon time.

THROUGH THE AREA. THAT’S WHY IT’S AN IMPACT DAY TODAY, BUT THERE IS A LOT TO LOOK FORWARD TO ON THIS WEEKEND. MOST OF THE WEEKENDS WE DRY BE A LOT WARMER AS WELL, BUT THE RAIN REALLY HELPING OUT ALLERGY SUFFERERS SO IT’S A LITTLE EASIER TO GET OUT AND ABOUT HERE AT LEAST TODAY. BUT OF COURSE THIS IS REALLY THE PEAK TIME OF TREE POLLEN IS REALLY JUST WAKING UP ALL ACROSS WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA. SO A LITTLE REPRIEVE TODAY. BUT THEN WE’RE BACK INTO THE HIGH CATEGORY FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE. UP TOP POLLINATORS RIGHT NOW ARE MAPLE, BIRCH AND ALSO THE OAK TREES, WHICH OF COURSE WE HAVE PLENTY OF HERE IN WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA. AS TOM MENTIONED, WE’RE STARTING OFF THIS MORNING WITH SHOWERS. BULK OF THE ACTION NOW IS PUSHING TOWARDS THE EAST OF PITTSBURGH. BUT YOU WILL NOTICE SOME BRIGHTER SHADES OF YELLOW AND ORANGE GETTING AROUND THE YOUNGWOOD GREENSBURG AREA THAT EXTENDS DOWN TOWARDS CONNELLSVILLE. ALSO, AS YOU’RE LOOKING THROUGH EASTERN PARTS OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY, WE CAN FOLLOW THAT LINE UP TOWARDS THE NORTH AS WELL. FOR SPOTS LIKE SAXONBURG JUST EAST OF BUTLER. NOW GETTING TOWARDS CHAKORA, CONTINUING ON TOWARDS OIL CITY. SO MAYBE SOME HEAVIER RAIN WAKING YOU UP HERE EARLY THIS MORNING. SHOWERS DO EXTEND BACK TOWARDS 79 AROUND GROVE CITY THIS MORNING AND EVEN THOUGH THE RADAR IS A LITTLE BIT QUIETER THEN FOR THOSE OF YOU WEST OF THE CITY, WE WILL SEE MORE SHOWERS DEVELOPING AS WE GET THE DAY STARTED. SO THAT’S WHY WE HAVE MADE IT AN IMPACT DAY AT LEAST TO START THE WEEKEND. WARM FRONT IS STILL BACK TOWARDS COLUMBUS. THAT WILL COME THROUGH OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS. STILL COULD STIR UP A FEW MORE SCATTERED SHOWERS AND EVENTUALLY BRING US A LOT OF WARMTH AS WELL. SO WE’LL KEEP THESE ROUNDS OF SHOWERS GOING THROUGH ABOUT MID TO LATE MORNING. I THINK ONCE WE GET TOWARDS LUNCHTIME WE MAINLY IN THE CLEAR FROM THE RAIN, SO CLOUDS THOUGH WILL LINGER INTO THE AFTERNOON JUST GIVEN THE HEAT OF THE DAY. CAN’T ENTIRELY RULE OUT A STRAY SHOWER COME LATE THIS AFTERNOON AROUND DINNERTIME. BUT ONCE THE SUN SETS, THINGS WILL BE DRY. MOST OF YOUR SUNDAY. LOOKING DRY AS WELL. A LITTLE BRIGHTER FOR US AS WELL. THERE IS AN OUTSIDE CHANCE OF A PASSING SHOWER AS LOOK TOWARDS I-80 80, BUT THAT WARMTH REALLY STARTS TO KICK INTO HIGH GEAR TOMORROW AND THAT’S GOING TO BE FEELING A LITTLE BIT MORE LIKE SUMMER RATHER THAN THE LAST WEEKEND OF APRIL, WITH HIGHS WELL INTO THE 80S FOR US TOMORROW. AND WE’LL CONTINUE THAT SUMMER LIKE FEELING INTO THE EARLY PARTS OF NEXT WEEK. 85 ON MONDAY. IT WILL BE A WARM START TO THE MONTH OF MAY 2ND, WITH TEMPERATURES RUNNING ANYWHERE FROM THE MID 70S TO LOWER 80. AS WE CONTINUE ON NEXT WEEK. OUTSIDE RIGHT NOW WE HAVE SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS. IT’S 54 IN THE CITY. THAT WIND COMING IN OUT OF THE EAST SOUTHEAST EVENTUALLY WILL TURN MORE SOUTHERLY EVEN TOWARDS THE SOUTHWEST. WE ALLOW THOSE TEMPERATURES TO WARM UP INTO THE SECOND PART OF THE DAY. SO SHOWERS AROUND TO START, PEEKS OF SUNSHINE THIS AFTERNOON 76 FOR A HIGH TEMPERATURE. THEN TONIGHT WE STAY WARM. TEMPERATURES ONLY EVENING OUT CLOSE TO 60 UNDER PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES. OVER TO YOUR 4-DAY PLUS 4 MORE FORECAST 83. TOMORROW 85 ON MONDAY. TEMPERATURES SLOW DOWN JUST A LITTLE BIT. ANOTHER IMPACT DAY TUESDAY THAT WILL BE WITH A COLD FRONT BRINGING US BETTER CHANCES FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS BACK TO THE 80S RATHER QUICKL

The weekend starts with an Impact Day and showers that will stick around through noon time. Clouds will slowly break through the afternoon and temperatures will climb into the mid 70s. Tomorrow is by far the pick of the weekend, in fact it will have more of an early summer feel. Highs will surge into the lower 80s under a mix of sun and clouds. The pre-summer feeling extends into early next week. Monday is dry. Tuesday is another Impact Day with showers and possible storms as a cold front crosses the area. We only need a quarter inch of rain to tie Pittsburgh’s wettest April from 1901. There is a good chance that this April will claim the top spot, and then some.TODAY: Impact Day – AM showers then peeks of sun. High: 76°TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and staying warm.
