The Mumbai Crime Branch said the unidentified people who fired were from outside Maharashtra. An empty shell was found in the actor's house.

According to a police official, two persons fired four shots outside Galaxy Apartments in Bandra area around 5 am and fled from there. Actor Salman Khan lives in this building.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said on the shooting incident outside actor Salman Khan's residence in Mumbai that it is an unfortunate incident. Police are investigating it. The accused will be caught and strict action will be taken against them. Those who take the law into their hands will not be spared. The Mumbai Police Commissioner has been instructed to increase the security of Salman Khan and his entire family. I have also spoken to Salman Khan, Sarkar is with him and he need not worry.
