What should we understand from this floral plan?

If you've been patient, if you've made it to the end of the credits of the last episode ofUmbrella Academyyou were rewarded with a little post-credits scene. Spoiler alert!

Indeed, at the end of the finale, we go back to this public garden, symbolizing the return to the original timeline, without Hargreeves or the Marigold. The camera stops for a few seconds on bright yellow flowers blooming. These are marigolds, called “Marigolds” in English! So is this a sign to tease a sequel in this universe or just a fun nod to our heroes? The creator Steve Blackman refuses to answer. In TVLine, he insists:

“I won't say. I won't say what it means, but if you know how our show works, you know that sometimes we leave things open for the future…”

Netflix

In other words, this could open a door to a possible new series. Or not.

Because Blackman also says he wants ““Leave it to the fans to interpret what the end of the series means. I like the ending, I think fans will have different feelings about it, but that's okay. Everyone can take from it, subjectively, what they want.”

The keenest observers will have noticed that there are 8 worries in this final shot, 8 “Marigolds” for our 8 heroes sacrificed in this last episode: Viktor, Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Five, Ben and Lila. Like a tribute from the universe that seems to say that even his existence has been erased, theUmbrella Academy is still a little bit there in this world.
