Two dead, seven hurt in Penn Hills bar shooting

Allegheny County police said a fight at a bar in Penn Hills led to a shooting that killed two people and injured seven others.

The shooting happened just before 3 a.m. at the Ballers Hookah Lounge and Cigar Bar on the 3500 block of Laketon Road. Police said responding officers found a man and woman shot dead inside the building.

Seven additional victims were found during the investigation, with one in critical condition. The others have serious, but not life-threatening injuries. Ambulances took four people to the hospital, while three others walked in seeking treatment.

Police said multiple people opened fire during the incident.

County police superintendent Chris Kearns said local police had responded to the bar for two recent shooting incidents, though this was the first fatal shooting he was aware of.
