Former President Trump criticized his guilty verdict in the New York criminal case against him on Sunday during an interview with “Fox & Friends Weekend.”
“It's militarization, and it's a very dangerous thing. We've never had that in this country,” he said in the exclusive interview.
On Thursday, a Manhattan jury found Trump guilty of all 34 counts of falsifying business records.
“People understand. It's a scam,” he said of the trial. “And the Republican Party…they have stood united in this matter. They see that this is a weaponization of the Department of Justice of the FBI and it's all coming from Washington.”

The interview — conducted by co-hosts Pete Hegseth, Will Cain and Rachel Campos-Duffy, aired in chunks throughout the show Sunday — called on the GOP front-runner to weigh the political landscape after the conviction.
A Daily Mail poll, for example, gave Trump a 6-point increase immediately afterward.
“People understand. It's a scam,” he said of the trial. “And the Republican Party…they have stood united in this matter. They see that this is a weaponization of the Department of Justice of the FBI and it's all coming from Washington.”

Trump focused on the alleged unfairness of the case — how his team sought to move the venue from deep blue Manhattan to a more favorable location, and hit Judge Juan Merchan, who faced criticism massive among conservatives.
“We probably had, maybe, the worst region in the whole country for me in terms of voting… and they still bring them [charges] in these sections. These are places where Republicans get almost no votes,” he said.
“But the good news is I think we set a record beyond all records in fundraising.”

The former president's fundraising page collapsed after Thursday's guilty verdict, turning the conviction into cash as he saw record donations pour in to his campaign.
Trump's legal team has vowed to appeal his conviction, putting it back in the hands of the New York appeals court and potentially beyond.
The former president also holds a lead over President Biden in several key polls in swing states, indicating some level of dissatisfaction with the current administration.
