The story of Lal Salam is set in a village called Kasumuru. Vishnu Vishal (Guru) and Vikrant (Samshuddin), who were earlier good friends, have now become enemies after an incident.
Rajinikanth plays the role of Moideen Bhai. Moideen Bhai runs a clothing business from Mumbai, has a close relationship with Guru (Vishnu Vishal) and the village. The story takes a new twist when the people of Kasumuru face humiliation from another village.
Rajinikanth will soon be seen in the film Vettiyan. This will be his 170th film. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Fazil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier and Ritika Singh.
