The Shelby family can sharpen their weapons. The rest of the series is coming.

Discussed for many months, the film Peaky Blinders is today a reality. Netflix has given the green light for the production of a feature film following the series, and still supported by Cillian Murphy, freshly crowned at the Oscars. He will return to play the charismatic leader of the Birmingham clan, Tommy Shelby.

According to Deadline, Tom Harperwho signed the action film Agent Stone for Netflix last year, will direct the film which does not yet have an official title. He had already directed the second half of season 1. The screenplay is written by the creator, Steven Knight.

Plot details are still unclear, but the film's story is said to take place during World War II. "It looks like Tommy Shelby isn't done with me," comments Cillian Murphy in Deadline. “VSt's very rewarding to collaborate again with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. It will be a film for the fans.”

Filming is expected to begin before the end of this year.
