I Know What You Did Last Summer Remake Reveals Cast

Among the new faces, we will notably find an actress from Riverdale.

After Screamit's another cult horror film from the 90s that is getting a reboot. After marking the revival of slashers, and having a trilogy and a series adaptation years later, Remember last summer? is back in a new format. Since 2014, the project was in the pipeline and passed from hand to hand before landing in those of Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (If you avenge me…) and Leah McKendrick for the screenplay. Little by little, the film is taking shape. But who will be the new protagonists?

Recently, The Hollywood Reporter announced that five actors from the new generation were in negotiations to play this group of tortured friends. We will therefore find Camila Mendes (Riverdale), Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks), Sarah Pidgeon (The Wilds), Tyriq Withers And Jonah Hauer-King (The little Mermaid).

These will succeed Jennifer Love Hewitt – who played his first film role there – Ryan Phillippe And Freddie Prinze Jr – who meets on the set the woman who now shares his life, Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Remember last summer? told the story of a group of young people who, on the evening of July 4, in excess and carelessness, knock down a stranger in a car accident. Fearing that they would end up in prison, they decide to get rid of the body. Riding on the success of Scream upon its original release, more than twenty years later, Remember last summer? is once again taking a page from its predecessor. Seeing the potential of “legacyquels” and the return of original actors to help new characters in their quest, rumors have circulated about the possibility of seeing Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. back on screen.

Helmed by Sony, this reboot is set to release in summer 2025 – a perfect time to get in the mood.
