Video footage of the incident showed Patel shouting anti-Semitic slurs at a flight attendant before being put in a headlock by another passenger and removed from the plane.
“I'm trying to get back to my home country and you've made it harder for me to get there,” he was heard shouting at one point in the video.
A flight attendant used the plane's public address system to ask if there were any off-duty police officers on board who could help restrain Patel. Police said six off-duty law enforcement officers intervened and took him off the plane.

“Prior to the departure of American Airlines Flight 2506 operating from Tampa (TPA) to Philadelphia (PHL), law enforcement was contacted on the aircraft due to a cabin disturbance involving a customer disruptive,” American Airlines said in a statement to Fox. The flight was 30 minutes late due to the incident.
Patel was arrested on two counts of battery and one count of disorderly intoxication. He is being held at the Hillsborough County Jail on $2,150 bail.
