A group of at least 75 anti-Israel agitators staged an encampment at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Saturday evening.
According to a statement from Drexel University President John Fry, 75 pro-Palestinian protesters set up an encampment on the Korman Quad campus Saturday evening.
Fry said these individuals participated in the Nakba Day march organized by the Philly Palestine Coalition to call for a ceasefire in Gaza.

The president said the encampment raised “understandable concerns” about campus security.
“There have been numerous well-documented cases of hate speech and intimidating behavior during other protests on campus,” Fry said.

Drexel Police Public Safety is monitoring the camp to “ensure it is peaceful and non-disruptive” and that participants will “behave respectfully toward each other,” Fry said.
“We will be prepared to respond quickly to any disruptive or threatening behavior from anyone,” Fry said.

The president of the University of Philadelphia reiterated that it “will not tolerate” the destruction of the campus, the harassment or intimidation of students, faculty or staff, as well as any “explicitly racist, anti-Semitic or Islamophobic” speech. .
“We will also not allow anyone who is not a member of the Drexel community into our buildings and student residence halls,” Fry said.
Drexel University Public Safety said all buildings were locked and open only to authorized individuals.

The protest at Drexel University came just one day after the arrest of 19 people at the nearby University of Pennsylvania.
Police confirmed to Fox News Digital that there were 19 arrests following the protest at the university's Fisher Bennett Hall.

According to the university, six students were among those arrested, while 12 people were cited for failure to disperse, among other charges. Twelve people were then released, FOX 29 reported.
