A 74-year-old Oregon man was rescued after falling nearly 40 feet from a cliff near the base of Sahalie Falls.
In a social media post, the Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District said first responders arrived at the base of the falls Wednesday afternoon after reports of a hiker.
The man had fallen approximately 40 feet from a cliff near the base of the falls.
“Fortunately, he suffered non-life-threatening injuries, but he was unable to walk and was extremely cold due to his proximity to the falls,” firefighters said.

Sahalie Falls is located along the McKenzie Pass-Santiam Pass and West Cascades National Scenic Byways off Highway 126 along Oregon's Cascade Mountain Range.
