With nearly 500,000 entries for its first week, Un ours dans le jura is off to a much better start than Rumba la vie in 2022.
Despite the end of the school holidays, The Lion King continues to attract spectators to the cinema. Nearly a million new entries have been recorded in recent days and Mufasa thus remains on the throne of the French box office.
The Disney prequel now has 3.5 million spectators in France and keeps at a distance Sonic 3which is slowly approaching 2 million entries in 2 weeks. Mufasa will not, however, reach the 10 million entries of the Lion King live from 2019 while Sonic 3 is already on track to be the biggest opus of the franchise in France (2.1 and 2.2 million at the end of the year for the first two films).
At the foot of the podium, we find Franck Dubosc and its frozen thriller A bear in the jura. Supported by critics, the film exceeded 450,000 admissions for its first week in theaters. A very good start, well beyond Rumba life (which had 150,000 admissions in the first week of 2022), but quite far from Everyone standingwhich was at 900,000 spectators in 2018 at the same time and finished with a total of 2.4 million.
