Virginie Efira will receive the Legion of Honor on July 14

The actress from Victoria, Benedetta and Nothing to Lose will be awarded the highest French decoration this Sunday.

On the cinema side, she is the most French of Belgians (naturalized in 2015), Virginie Efirawho is honored with the distinction which rewards individuals “committed to serving the general interest and the influence of France”, according to the Grand Chancellery.

The actress, who started out as a presenter on Belgian television in the late 1990s, is no stranger to awards. She is the proud recipient of three Magritte (Kill Me Please, Victoria, See Paris again), of a Light (Other People's Children), and above all a César for Best Actress, obtained in 2023 for her role in See Paris again.

This was not the first time Virginie Efira had been nominated for this prize, which she missed out on in 2017 (Victoria), in 2019 (An impossible love), in 2021 (Goodbye idiots), in 2022 (Benedetta) and most recently this year for Love and Forests.

Over the past ten years, her popularity has exploded in France, where she first came to the attention of the general public as the presenter of Nouvelle Star. Since then, she has taken on a number of comedic roles (Kaamelott, Love is better with two, 20 years apart) but also and above all in recent dramatic years (She, Sibyl, Police, Nothing to lose). A CV that allows him to easily rise each year in the ranking of the French people's favorite personalities (Ifop).

She briefly returned to the small screen to play herself in season 2 of Ten percentand in season 3 of the ultra popular show LOL: who laughs, gets out! produced by Amazon. She also plays the lead role in the series Everything is finereleased last November on Disney Plus.
