The actress talks about the time jump planned for season 3 of the HBO series.
Time flies, even for East Highland high school students! Euphoria will jump back in time for season 3. Sam Levinson is working on a sequel that will take Rue and her friends out of the context of the school. They will have grown up, and that's a good thing according to Zendayawho confides in Entertainment Weekly today:
““It's important because you can't always make up more drama in high school.” laughs the actress who has just turned 28. “We’re not going to spend our time telling stories about a girl who cheats on her boyfriend!”
Zendaya can't yet say what Rue will do when she returns to the screen, but she will be an adult now:
“I don't really know much about what's going to happen or what the season is going to be like, but I do know that this time jump is going to happen and it's going to be fascinating to see these characters outside of the context of high school, to see what they became, and how everything we saw when they were children, in this high school, affected their adult lives. How they will evolve in a world much larger than the microcosm of high school. It's very interesting to explore.”
Season 3 ofEuphoriaalso starring Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Storm Reid, and Alexa Demie, will not be broadcast before 2025 on HBO and in France on Max.
