Occasional flurries with isolated light snow showers to kick off the weekend.

BOBBLE HEADS SAFE. 648 IS YOUR TIME ON THIS SATURDAY MORNING. JILL’S BACK WITH ANOTHER CHECK OF OUR CERTIFIED MOST ACCURATE FORECAST. CHILLY. SOME FLAKES OUT THERE THIS MORNING. COLD, RIGHT? IT’S JUST THE SAME OLD, SAME OLD. EVEN AS WE CONTINUE THROUGH THIS WEEKEND, WE’VE KIND OF GOTTEN OURSELVES INTO A BIT OF A RUT. BUT A REMINDER IT IS JANUARY AFTER ALL. LOCALLY ACCUMULATION NOW BEHIND US. BUT AS WE WORK THROUGH THE FIRST HALF OF THE DAY, WE MAY FRESHEN THINGS UP WITH ADDITIONAL COATING, MAYBE UP TO A HALF INCH IN SOME SPOTS. MEANWHILE, OVER INTO THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS COULD BE AN EXTRA INCH OR SO ACROSS THE REGION. WE’LL BE KEEPING AN EYE ON THE RADAR, REALLY ZOOMING IN VERY CLOSELY TO FIND SOME OF THESE BATCHES OF FLAKES, A FEW MORE SHOWING UP AROUND DOWNTOWN PITTSBURGH. ALSO WORKING ALONG THE OHIO RIVER BETWEEN CORAOPOLIS AND EVEN BELLEVUE RIGHT NOW. OTHERWISE, THE HEART OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY PRETTY QUIET. EVEN THOSE FLAKES WORKING THROUGH NORTHERN FAYETTE COUNTY REALLY FIZZLING AS THEY APPROACH NOW PARTS OF THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS JUST NORTH OF CHALK HILL, EVEN OUTSIDE OF DUNBAR AT THIS POINT. AND WE WILL SEE STILL SOME OCCASIONAL FLAKES JUST GIVEN THE CLOUDS THAT ARE OUT THERE THIS MORNING, THAT WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY DOES EXTEND THROUGHOUT THE DAY, EVEN THROUGH TONIGHT. IN FACT, SET TO EXPIRE AT 1:00 TOMORROW MORNING. THIS IS FOR EVERYBODY ACROSS WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA, DOWN IN WEST VIRGINIA, ALSO GARRETT COUNTY, MARYLAND, MORE OR LESS JUST BECAUSE OF THE TRAVEL CONDITIONS. YOU MAY FIND SOME TRICKY SPOTS AS YOU WORK THROUGH THE DAY, ESPECIALLY COMING OFF OF THAT LIGHT SNOW LAST NIGHT. IF YOU’RE GOING TO BE OUT AND ABOUT WHETHER YOU’RE MAKING THE TRIP TO BALTIMORE OR STAYING AT HOME FOR THE WILD CARD MATCHUP BETWEEN THE STEELERS AND THE RAVENS, VERY SIMILAR WEATHER AROUND. KICKOFF AT 8:00 TONIGHT DOWN IN BALTIMORE. TEMPERATURE WILL BE AROUND FREEZING, BUT IT WILL FEEL LIKE THE 20S THROUGHOUT THE GAME. GOOD WEATHER FOR THIS BIG, BIG MATCHUP. OF COURSE, IF YOU’RE STAYING CLOSE BUT STILL HEADING OUT TO A WATCH PARTY. TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN THE MID 20S. CLOUDY AND BRISK HERE. CLOSE TO HOME. LOOKING OVER THE NEXT FOUR DAYS. TEMPERATURES ACTUALLY INCHING A LITTLE BIT HIGHER. WE’LL BE BACK TO 30 TOMORROW, POSSIBLY FREEZING ON MONDAY. THAT WILL BE OUR NEXT DECENT CHANCE FOR SOME SNOW SHOWERS BEFORE EVEN COLDER AIR BLOWS IN. MIDDLE PART OF NEXT WEEK. YOU’LL NOTICE OVER THE COMING HOURS A LOT OF THESE MORNING FLAKES WRAPPING UP STILL COULD LINGER INTO THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS, MAYBE PROVIDING SOME SKIERS AND SNOWBOARDERS A LITTLE BIT OF EXTRA FRESH POWDER HERE THIS MORNING. INTO THE AFTERNOON, THOUGH, SKIES WILL BE CLOUDY AGAIN. WOULDN’T BE SURPRISED IF YOU CATCH A FLAKE OR TWO, BUT FOR THE MOST PART WE ARE DRYING THINGS OUT, SETTLING IT DOWN AS WE CONTINUE ON THROUGH THE WEEKEND. SKIES JUST CLOUDY OVERNIGHT AND AS YOU WAKE UP ON SUNDAY LOOKING TOWARDS THE AFTERNOON TOMORROW. A LITTLE BIT OF SUNSHINE STARTS TO WORK IN AGAIN AHEAD OF THAT NEXT SYSTEM, WHICH LOOKS TO ARRIVE ON MONDAY. HEADING OUT THE DOOR MAYBE OKAY IN MOST SPOTS. MORE THAN LIKELY BE INTO THE AFTERNOON THAT WE SEE THE BULK OF THE SNOW COME IN. HERE’S A LITTLE BIT OF A CLOSER LOOK ON FUTURECAST. SEE THOSE BANDS COMING IN AROUND MIDDAY, EVEN LASTING THROUGH THE EVENING COMMUTE. SO WE’LL BE WATCHING THAT FOR YOU. ANY ACCUMULATIONS LOOK TO BE REALLY LIGHT, BUT THEN IT GETS REALLY, REALLY COLD. STARTING ON TUESDAY. FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES, SINGLE DIGITS EVEN TO AROUND ZERO. AND THAT’S EVEN AS WE GO THROUGH THE DAY. SO THAT AIR CERTAINLY HAVING A BIT OF A BITE TO IT AS THAT REINFORCING ARCTIC AIR IS GOING TO BE BLOWING IN OVER THE COMING DAYS, NOT JUST TUESDAY. IT’S WEDNESDAY AS WELL. MORNING LOWS START OFF IN THE SINGLE DIGITS. HIGHS ONLY IN THE TEENS DOES START TO IMPROVE BEGINNING ON FRIDAY. HIGHS FINALLY ABOVE THE FREEZING MARK. WE COULD BE APPROACHING 40. THAT’S A HEAT WAVE. BY THE TIME WE GET TOWARDS NEXT WEEKEND. BUT STILL, WE HAVEN’T SEEN THE COLDEST DAYS OF THIS BITTER STRETCH, SO WE CAN’T OVERLOOK THAT AS WE’RE KIND OF TRYING TO KEEP YOU SAFE HERE THIS WEEK. DON’T THROW THE JACKETS AWAY JUST YET. OH NO NO NO, WE’RE GETTING A LOT OF USE HERE AT THIS POINT. YES W
