The director of Longlegs adapts a Stephen King short story and promises “lots of completely crazy deaths in it”…
The Monkey will be released in France on February 19. Adaptation of the short story The Monkey of Stephen King where an old cursed toy causes a series of gruesome deaths, the film is directed by Osgood Perkinswho had a nice little success with his horror film Longlegs with Maika Monroe And Nicolas Cage This year. In fact, the guy is offering us a little end-of-year gift by sharing the first excerpt from The Monkey on YouTube. Perkins also promises us a film “fairly dark, but very funny, with lots of completely crazy deaths in it, in the spirit of the short story written by Mr. King”. The extract in question, devoid of any dialogue, is actually “fairly dark” visually but also particularly painful – and watch carefully until the end, the end of the video is very funny. Promise!
In the credits of The Monkeywe will find Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Theo James (The White Lotus) and Elijah Wood.
And the trailer for the film actually promises quite a few deaths “pretty crazy”…
