Will Tom Cruise really have time to film Top Gun 3?

No time for Top Gun 3 ? Tom Cruise is a busy man, very busy. So much so that, despite the historic success of Top Gun: Maverick in 2022, making the sequel does not seem to be a priority for the star. For now…

While W9 reprograms this suitefollowed by the original, this evening, let's take stock of the progress of Top Gun 3.

If Paramount has already cleared doubts regarding his desire to produce a new opus in the clouds, from January 2024, no filming date is in sight for Top Gun 3.

While Ehren Kruger works on the script, producer Jerry Bruckheimer confessed to ScreenRant in spring that he had no idea when Tom Cruise will be available to film the sequel. And there’s no question of doing this without him:

“It will be Tom Cruisethe headliner. Tom is incredible. We spent time with him. We have a history. The director, Joe Kosinski, had a wonderful story idea, and Tom told us he thought it was really good. So we develop it. We think it's going to happen, but we never know when it might happen, because Tom is so busy. It turns Mission: Impossible 8 Right now. He has another film planned after that. Hopefully we'll be able to write a script that he loves and that will motivate him, so we can get back into the air quickly.”

Because Tom Cruise just turned 62. And he is currently running, in Mission: Impossible 8 for the rest of Dead Reckoning : after a break this summer, the time to participate in the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games, the star returned to the sets of the last film in the saga by Christopher McQuarrie to film a few more scenes.

Cruise must then find this same director (who has already directed him in Jack Reacher) for a film “very angry”and a role “very un-Tom”. It is also attached to a project with Alejandro G. Iñárritu, the director of The Revenantand his signing of a contract with Warner Bros. earlier in the year reawakened hopes for a Edge of Tomorrow 2…and let's not forget the big project he's supposed to shoot aboard the ISS. So how do you find time to Top Gun 3 in all this?
