Will Demi Moore be the star of Landman season 2?

“It will be very interesting to see what Cami’s role will be in this man’s world…”

While she has just received a Golden Globe and will be a favorite for the Oscar for Best Actress in early March (thanks to The Substance), Demi Moore was very curiously underused in season 1 of Landman. The 62-year-old actress plays a very small role in the new phenomenon series of Taylor Sheridan. She is the trophy wife, the wife of the billionaire played by Jon Hamm. And in her rare scenes, her character was confined to the role of spouse reproaching her husband for working too hard… But at the end of season 1, we understood why Demi Moore had accepted the job. Warning spoilers!

In the last episode of season 1 of Landmanthe husband in question dies of a heart attack. Monty is no longer there and it is his right-hand man in the field, Tommy, who finds himself appointed to head the company. But he's going to direct with Cami and now, Demi Moore will be the boss of the oil company Landman ! Logically, his role will be expanded in season 2, as Christian Wallace, co-creator/executive producer of the series, points out:

“Cami is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with in Season 2” he confirms to TVLine. “We didn't really get to see her wield that power and influence because she played a very different role in the first season. But in season 2, it will be very interesting to see what Cami's role will be in this world of men, now that she finds herself at the top, taking over from her husband, having to make these decisions in a world which is still predominantly populated by men.”

Christian Wallace explains that Cami's slow introduction was thoughtful and corresponds to the rise of women in the oil industry: “There are more and more women in the oil sector, including women who now hold leadership positions in some of the largest companies in this industry. Cami would therefore not be alone in this world, even if it is still largely dominated by men. She will have a very interesting role to play in the sequel. And with Demi Moore to play this character at the peak of his power? It should be amazing!”

For now, season 2 of Landman has not yet started filming. Production will be launched in early 2025.
