Cameos are commonplace in the Deadpool saga, but for the third installment, Ryan Reynolds has outdone himself. Spoiler alert!

Who is hiding behind the mask of the mysterious Lady Deadpool, who appeared in several trailers for Deadpool & Wolverine ? The two big favorites were Taylor Swiftwhich his fans have been fantasizing about in the MCU for some time now, but whose presence in the film had been refuted a little before its release; and Blake Livelyleading actress of the 2000s and incidentally married to Ryan Reynoldsthe actor who plays Wade Wilson/Deadpool.

But who is Lady Deadpool in the end? Warning, this article contains spoilers!

Deadpool & Wolverine accomplish their mission [critique]

The most attentive will have understood this at the end of the film, when Lady Deadpool speaks to Deadpool and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) as an armada of “Merc With A Mouth” variants flies to Cassandra Nova's aid (Emma Corrin). Just by the sound of her voice… For the others, it will have been necessary to wait until the credits to realize that it is indeed Mrs. Reynolds, aka Blake Lively, who is hiding behind the enigmatic mask of Lady Deadpool; a mask that she will never remove in the film.

A logical casting, when you think about it, and which makes all the more sense since it is on the set of another superhero film, the infamous Green Lanternthat the couple met almost fifteen years ago.

Of course, there were other clues, including this Instagram post by the actress Gossip Girl. She poses with Ryan Reynolds, made up as Wade Wilson, and some will have noticed that she herself is wearing a red outfit, which could be that of Lady Deadpool.

In the caption, she raves about how the writers of Deadpool 3 incorporated a whole bunch of references to popular culture from the 2000s into the film: “It’s hard not to encourage my y2k friends to spot all the ways we’ve influenced @deadpoolmovie. I’ve never been prouder. And I’ve given birth 4 times.”she wrote.

Besides, Lady Deadpool's appearance is not Blake Lively's only foray into Deadpool & Wolverine. “There are 206 bones in the human body, 207 when I look “Gossip Girl,” Deadpool says at the beginning of the film. Later, he also threatens to “swing to Blake” a character with wandering hands.

But Blake Lively isn't the only one hiding under a Deadpool mask. Remember: in addition to Lady Deadpool and Dogpool, one of the many trailers for this third installment revealed the intervention of another variant of the anti-hero: Cowboy Deadpool, also known as Deadpool Kid in the comics, and whose first images showed the holster and spurs.

Just like Blake Lively, her interpreter in the film has a very recognizable voice, which will inevitably have made some spectators smile: that of Matthew McConaugheyHollywood's most likeable Texan, who was often seen wearing a cowboy hat (Magic Mike, Dallas Buyers Club). An intuition which is also confirmed in the end credits.

In short, two cameos subtly (everything is relative!) introduced and not to be missed in Deadpool & Wolverinecurrently in theaters. Here is the trailer for the film by Shawn Levy with Blake Lively and Matthew McConaughey, but above all, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and Emma Corrin:
