Netflix drama “Wednesday” (2022-) directed and executive produced by Tim Burton and starring Jenna Ortega. Season 2 is currently being filmed, but there are already ideas for seasons 3 and 4. This was revealed by co-showrunner and co-writer Alfred Gough.
“Wednesday'' is a detective mystery starring Wednesday (Ortega), the eldest daughter of “The Addams Family,'' which was derived from comics and developed into movies, anime, TV dramas, and musicals. The story depicts how Wednesday becomes involved in her family's past and mysterious serial murders during her strange student life at Nevermore Academy.
In an interview with US Collider, the following questions were asked about the season concept for this work. “Did you foreshadow season 3 and beyond when you were writing season 2? Or is your stance on season 3 being that you wait until season 2 is successful to think about season 3?” Gough responded by saying, “It's not one or the other.”
“First of all, there is a rough idea, a guidepost. Then, during the development process of the season, an idea comes to mind and you realize, “This is an interesting story,'' or “This is good,'' and that may lead to Season 3. ]Also, when we're putting together a season, we're thinking about interesting stories and characters, and sometimes it's only after we start filming that we're satisfied with both elements.
Gough says that producing a television series is a process of trial and error, and that there were some good episodes and some not-so-good episodes in the past “Young Superman'' episodes. Regarding “Wednesday,” he said, “I have ideas for seasons 3 and 4.” “But things change and better ideas may emerge, so nothing is set in stone.”
According to Gough, filming for Season 2, which is currently taking place in Ireland, is halfway through. Burton plans to direct half of the show, or four episodes, just like he did in season one. As of now, the production of “Wednesday” seasons 3 and 4 has not been officially announced.
