How to transcribe Edmond Dantès' obsession without falling into repetition? That was Jérôme Rebotier's challenge on this soundtrack… and he met it with flying colors.

Since the count of Monte Cristo A hit at the cinema, Pierre Niney posts on his social networks photos and videos behind the scenes: make-up sessions, organisation of the Paris premiere, actors having fun between two scenes… Recently, he also insisted on the quality of the film's soundtrack, composed by Jerome Rebotiersharing with his fans an excerpt from one of his main themes: “Edmond and Mercedes”.

A sweet music that punctuates the beginning of the love story between the two heroes, before Dantès is betrayed, imprisoned, and plots his revenge.

From this romantic air, Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de la Patellière asked their faithful composer (Rebotier had already worked with them on The First Name, An Illustrious Unknown, The Best is Yet to Come…) to take up a challenge: to musically illustrate the obsession of their protagonist without falling into repetition. The artist deciphers for First his work, on the piano and on video:
