Watch the first 8 minutes of Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim

The return to Middle-earth promises to be icy and chilling.

The legend of Helm Hand-Hammer is already revealed. Warner Bros. posted the first 8 minutes of his new film online The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrima great animated epic which will take place before the events of Peter Jackson's trilogy, with Brian Cox in the role of Helm and Gaia Wise in that of his daughter Hera.

The Rohirrim War will tell the myths and legends of Rohan and return to one of the founding events of its history.

A succession of battles and confrontations which will lead us to Helm's Deep – well known to fans – The Rohirrim War promises to be epic and lyrical. Swords clash on all sides, led head-on by this central, heroic female character, to whom the creators have given life and flesh. Since in the annals left by Tolkien, Hera is only mentioned under the simple letter H.

Directed by Kenji Kamiyana (Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2045), The Rohirrim War will be released on December 11 in cinemas in France.
