Trump uses drone controversy to mock Chris Christie

President-elect Trump took advantage of the mysterious drone controversy in New Jersey on Saturday to mock former ally-turned-enemy Chris Christie.

The president-elect, who takes office in just over a month, shared an artificially generated meme of the former New Jersey governor eating McDonald's with more McDonald's meals delivered by drones, mocking his weight on Truth Social and X.

Christie supported Trump in 2016, but was later removed as head of his transition team.

Last year, Christie ran a short-lived presidential campaign for the 2024 election, during which he called Trump a “coward” and a “Putin puppet,” but he dropped out in January.

“I want to promise you, I will make sure that I will never allow Donald Trump to be president of the United States again. And that is more important than my own personal ambition,” he declared in dropping his speech. out.

Christie's weight has been a frequent target for Trump since their argument. Last year, Trump jokingly told a supporter not to call the former governor a “fat pig.”

Since mid-November, New Jersey residents have been baffled by unexplained sightings of what appear to be drones.

The sightings have also been reported in other parts of the country, including at military installations, prompting lawmakers to demand answers.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy and law enforcement officials have said the drones do not appear to pose a threat to public safety.

On Friday, Trump called for drones to be shot down if there is no reasonable explanation for them.

“Mysterious drone sightings across the country. Can this really be happening without our government knowing,” he wrote on Truth Social. “I don't think so! Let the public know, and now. If not, shoot them!!!”
