The Kansas City Chiefs improved to 4-0 in their win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, but suffered a potentially major blow to their offense.
During the first quarter, Chargers defensive back Kristian Fulton intercepted Patrick Mahomes. On the return, Mahomes attempted to make a tackle on Fulton, lowering his shoulder and diving on Fulton, but completely missed.
Mahomes instead hit teammate Rashee Rice in the knee. Rice was able to cautiously leave the field, but was ejected once he got to the sideline and did not return for the rest of the game.

Travis Kelce reacted to Rice's injury during a recent episode of “New Heights.”
“On the offensive side of the ball, man, we started rolling, and it won't get any easier watching Rashee go down during the game. I love the way that guy played football, how he attacked every day at the “training,” Kelce said.
“You know, sometimes you're so supportive of guys who do it the right way and Rashee had done that, man, and I felt like a huge dagger when I saw him go down,” Kelce continued.
PATRICK MAHOMES ACCIDENTALLY LEVELS RASHEE AFTER INTERCEPTION; THE WIDE CHIEF RECEIVER FOR THE GAME
Rice entered the game leading the Chiefs in targets (29), receptions (24), yards (289) and scored two touchdowns this season.
Despite Mahomes' primary target going down early in the game, the Chiefs were able to overcome a 10-0 deficit to win the game 17-10.
Kelce had his best performance of the season in the victory, with seven receptions for 89 yards. The Chiefs will count on Kelce to build on his strong performance against the Chargers, with Rice likely missing time.
