The story of a little boy who messes up his letter to Santa Claus and summons Satan.
THE Farrelly Brothers launch into Christmas comedy with Dear Santa. But that requires a little linguistic explanation upstream, which the French version will clearly have fun translating. In the United States, Santa Claus is called Santa Claus or Santa for short. Which turns out to be the anagram of… Satan! Confusion is near. To the point that little Liam, not very good at spelling, will mix things up, writing his letter to Santa to Satan instead of Santa. Suddenly, it is the Devil himself who comes to visit him, in the guise of a Jack Black crazy, as shown in the trailer (below) unveiled by Paramount.
This nice, crazy and family film is signed Bobby and Peter Farrelly (Mary at All Prices, Dumb & Dumber), who meet again more than ten years after their last film Dumb and Dumber To.
“Liam Turner (Robert Timothy Smith), still believes in Santa Claus. To prove to all his unbelieving friends that Santa Claus exists, he writes a letter to the big man inviting him to show himself. The only problem? Liam is not very good at spelling and addresses the letter to Satan (Black). Satan, who never receives letters from children, is flattered and goes to meet Liam. Chaos ensues.”
Dear Santaalso starring Keegan-Michael Key, Brianne Howey, Hayes MacArthur and singer Post Malone, will be released directly for streaming on November 25 on Paramount +.
