Hudson Meek played the child version of the title character in Edgar Wright's film.
In a flashback scene from Baby Driverwe discover how the character played by Ansel Elgort survived a car accident in which his parents died, and which caused him to suffer from tinnitus, which he alleviates by constantly listening to music. It is Hudson Meek who played young Baby in this short sequence.
Hudson Meek is decidedly tragically at the age of 16, his family revealed on Christmas Day, in a message relayed by Variety.
“It is with broken hearts that we tell you that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight. The 16 years he spent on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and had a significant impact on everyone he met.“
On December 19, Hudson Meek fell onto the road from a moving vehicle. He died two days later of his injuries at a hospital in Alabama. According to TMZ the police would rule out the hypothesis of a homicide, and the accident would not be linked to the use of drugs or alcohol.
Besides Baby DriverHudson Meek had distinguished himself in several tv series, including the reboot of MacGyverand last September he went to the Deauville American Film Festival to present the black and white drama The School Duelwhich will soon be released posthumously.
