A serious contender for the Oscar, capable of beating Disney and its Vice-Versa 2, the DreamWorks Animation film is already thinking about the sequel.
It is undeniably one of the most beautiful animated films of the year. The Wild Robot has grossed more than $230 million at the worldwide box office and is considered a serious Oscar contender in the coming months.
In these circumstances, it's hard not to imagine a sequel. The Wild Robot 2 is not yet official, but you should know that the tale is inspired by a book by Peter Brownwhich has two other volumes. Peter Brown in person says he is optimistic about the adaptation of his sequels. He confides to ComingSoon:
“Yes, there are three books, and maybe there will be three movies. Or two. Or more. It's not official yet. Let's just say I hope there will be at least one sequel. There's a second book called The Wild Robot Escapes and I know Chris Sanders (the director) and Jeff Herman (the producer) read it and liked it. the first two books in the series are really a big story so I think they're really hoping to get the green light for that to happen but I don't know where that stands I don't want to get ahead of myself. optimistic about the possibility of a sequel!”
The Wild Robot is currently in theaters in France. The film has totaled more than 1.2 million admissions so far here.
