The return of Scrubs is near: the creator assures that “everything is going in the right direction”

And Bill Lawrence already has a clear vision of what a good revival should be.

While season 1 of Bad Monkey has just ended and season 2 of Shrinking begins, Bill Lawrence is a busy series creator. But that does not prevent him from always working on the return of Scrubshis cult series.

Arrested in 2010 after more than 180 episodes, Scrubs A new season has been brewing for some time and according to Deadline, things are starting to fall into place for it to come to fruition. In any case, Bill Lawrence believe it!

“I think it's really on the cusp of happening. Everything is really moving in the right direction. A lot of the creative team behind the camera, and most of the actors and actresses in front of the camera, are all super invested and excited. So we're very close to getting there.”

So what could the return of Scrubs ?

It takes a mix of old and new, for the creator, who talks about bringing back familiar faces by adding new characters and new ideas: “We've talked about it a lot, and I think the only real reason to do it is as a combo. First, because people want to see what happened to the people they loved in Scrubs, in the world of medicine. This is what is part of a successful reboot. But then, I also think that Scrubs worked because we saw young people launching into the world of medicine, knowing that the young people who go there are super idealistic and go there by vocation. There is not this cliché of the rich doctor who plays golf. So I think it would be a huge mistake not to do a combination of those two things.“

Knowing that Disney has the rights to Scrubsthis return of the series – if it ever comes to fruition – should be for Disney Plus, which already broadcasts all the episodes of the original series.
