The opening credits for the new Batman animated series are available

Exit Danny Elfman: Bruce Timm's new show immerses viewers in a film noir atmosphere.

Lights lighting up the Gotham sky, a bank exploding, a Batmobile speeding off and Batman finally arriving to face the bad guys… All punctuated by Danny Elfman's iconic theme, created a few years earlier for the first Batman Tim Burton's opening credits of the animated series Batman of the 1990s contributed greatly to the popularity of the show created by Bruce Timm.

Three decades later, the host and director returns for a new show dedicated to Dark Knightbut in a completely different atmosphere, more film noir, this time.

This new series will arrive on Prime Video at the very beginning of August, so to tide us over, rather than showing too much in an exhaustive trailer, the creative team of Batman: Caped Crusader is banking on its new theme song. This time, it's Frederik Wiedman, the composer of Star Trek: Picardwho is in charge of the music. Matt Reeves, the director of The Batmanand JJ Abrams are producing alongside Timm, and have decided to change their style to avoid too many comparisons with their elder. Hence this chic black and white, these more slender characters, these gangsters armed to the teeth, these wide shots of the city à la Edward Hopper and this omnipresent darkness. The music is slower, but the threat is there: The Caped Crusader is going to have a hard time with all of Gotham's big baddies!

In this version, Hamish Linklater plays Bruce Wayne, surrounded by Dietrich Bader as Harvey Dent, Minnie Driver as Penguin (yes, the character changes gender, it was one of the revelations of Comic-Con 2024), Eric Morgan Stuart as Commissioner Gordon, Krystal Joy Brown as Barbara Gordon, John DiMaggio as Bullock, Christina Ricci as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Jason Watkins as Alfred Pennyworth and finally Jamie Chung as Harley Quinn.
