Wonder Woman will be the first evening film of 2025 on TF1.
During the summer of 2016, its trailer opened with the rescue of a First World War soldier on a beach (Chris Pine) by Diana (Gal Gadot), the heroine of DC comics. The sequence of shots evoked The Little Mermaidthe Disney cartoon released in 1989, so much so that the video was quickly parodied, for example by re-editing it with the air of “Go there” :

Entertainment Weekly took advantage of the release of the blockbuster, in June 2017, to ask its creators if it was a coincidence or if it was a simple wink, and the screenwriter Alan Heinberg replied that it was actually a real inspiration for this modern version of Wonder Woman.
“I find their paths very similar. They grew up in a very protected world and they dream of discovering the world, they are curious and want at all costs to get out of what they know to experience life. They want to go to the people.”
Wonder Woman is a success
With the director Patty Jenkins and producers Geoff Johns And Zack Snyderthey also mentioned Daryl Hannah In splashreleased in 1984, (definitely, they like mermaids!), and the first Supermanof Richard Donner (1978).
“In Splash, the heroine makes lots of comments about our worldanalyzes Johns. Some are funny and light-hearted, but others are poignant. And she always makes very accurate observations. We were looking for exactly that.”
Jenkins instead cites Christopher Reeves in Clark Kent/Superman:
“I saw this film as a child and it changed my life. I was 7 years old, I was amazed. It was the most beautiful film. I cried! A lot of people experienced that with Star Wars, but for me, it was Superman.”
“It’s true that it’s powerful, full of emotions, concludes Johns. We were looking for a tone that was as fair, but with the qualities specific to Wonder Woman: love, peace and compassion.”
