The Final, Blast-Off Borderlands Trailer Starring Cate Blanchett Is Here

Bounty hunter Lilith is forced to return to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of Atlas, the most powerful man in the universe. The planet Pandora is not the most pleasant – to put it mildly: it is probably the most chaotic in the galaxy. To honor her mission, Lilith embarks on an unexpected alliance with a fine team. Among them, Roland, a mercenary, Tiny Tina a pre-teen who loves destruction, Krieg her athletic protector, Tannis a mad scientist, and Claptrap, a funny robot with a sharp tongue.

If the game Borderlands was mainly inspired by the world of Mad Maxeven crazier, with its completely offbeat post-apocalyptic world, its film adaptation will be as colorful and wacky as an episode of Guardians of the Galaxy.

The final cut, unveiled this week by Lionsgate, is perfectly in this same vein: filled with exaggeratedly menacing monsters, bright colors and explosive action scenes.

Borderlands will be released in theaters on August 7.
