10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, there was already a vast aristocratic galactic empire: the “Imperium” will be explored in a new light in Dune: Prophecythe brand new series derived from the saga of Frank Herbert, which extends the films of Denis Villeneuve going back into the past.
A prequel that will focus on the dark Bene Gesserit, these nuns who manipulate power in the shadows. “The series will trace the origins of the mysterious religious organization, through the story of two Harkonnen sisters brought to fight against the forces of evil that threaten the future of humanity” details the synopsis.
Adaptation of The Community of Sistersnovel by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, Dune: Prophecy will put Emily Watson in the shoes of a powerful and ambitious Bene Gesserit, facing Mark Strong who will make the Emperor of the time. We also see it a lot in the new trailer that Warner Bros has just revealed (see below).
Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning and Yerin Ha complete the cast. Alison Schapker is the showrunner. Denis Villeneuve did not realize it.
The first episode of six episodes of Dune: Prophecy will be available on November 18 on Max in France, then we will see a new episode every Monday.
