Alex Proyas has clearly made it his mission to finish Rupert Sanders' film, which is already failing at the box office.

$4.6 million in revenue. That's really too little for a film like The Crow. The flop is massive for the remake, and there is one who rubs his hands: it is Alex Proyas !

The director of the original 1994 adaptation has always expressed his opposition to this new version. For him, it is to sully the memory of Brandon Lee, killed on the set at the time. His film was finished as a tribute to the deceased actor. And so a remake is not possible.

As a result, Alex Proyas rejoices on his Facebook page at the failure of The Crow 2024 : “I thought the remake was a cynical attempt to make money. Apparently there's not much money to be made.” writes the filmmaker, commenting on the film's flop at the US box office.

The director also shared negative reviews such as the one that describes The Crow of “worst movie of the year 2024“. With jubilation, Alex Proyas writing : “This is the review we've all been waiting for. It's kind of like flogging a dead horse now, so I think I'll stop after this… until another funny review comes along!”
