The cult soul and R&B group from the 1990s soon to be brought to life in cinema.
Everyone knows the hits “I'll make love to you” or “End Of The Road”. The melodious voices of Boyz II Menlegendary R&B soul group from the 1990s, could soon resonate in movie theaters.
The big trend of musical biopics (Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen or Bob Dylan will be entitled to them in 2025) should give us a film which will retrace the 30-year career of the group, four times winner of a Grammy Award.
THE Boyz II Men partnered with production companies Compelling Pictures and Primary Wave to develop the feature film. The group's lead singers, Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman and Wanya Morris, will serve as executive producers on the project.
“We were waiting to find the right partners who understand our story and are ready to tell it all”Nathan Morris said in a statement on behalf of the group. “Denis and Jeff from Compelling Pictures understood us from day one.”
Jeff Kalligheriwho was already behind the biopic I Wanna Dance With Somebody on Whitney Houston, is in discussions with writers and directors. The producer would like to be able to start shooting the film fairly quickly, which will be based on the group's musical catalog. He states: “Having grown up as a huge fan of Boyz II Men and having spent the last two years getting to know the guys and becoming friends with them, it's a huge honor to help bring their unique and never-before-seen story to the big screen. We'll show the brotherhood and camaraderie, as well as the challenges and conflicts, the humor and heartbreak, that accompanied the unprecedented success that Nate, Shawn, Wanya and Mike worked so hard to achieve“.
For now, the biopic on Boyz II Men does not yet have a release date. We are especially waiting to know that he will be in the casting to embody the singers and their inimitable voices.
