Alejandro G. Iñárritu's new film starring Tom Cruise takes The Batman: Part II's October 2026 release slot.
We will still have to wait to see the rest of The Batman on the big screen. Warner has just announced that The Batman: Part II will enter production at the end of 2025, and will be released in the United States on October 1, 2027. Its original release date, October 2, 2026, will now be occupied by another highly anticipated film: the new Alejandro G. Iñárritu film with Tom Cruise , currently untitled (it would be a fresco on “the most powerful man in the world”, it's vague).
We know the casting of Alejandro Iñárritu's film with Tom Cruise
The Batman: Part II will therefore be released five years after The Batman – one year more than the gap between The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, if comparisons are to be made. Robert Pattinson will still be the Dark Knight, and Matt Reeves will also be behind the camera.
Warner also made another swap of dates, between Mickey 17 by Bong Joon-ho (also with Pattinson) and the vampire film Sinners by Ryan Coogler with Michael B. Jordan. The first will be released on March 7, 2025, while the second will be here for April 18 of the same year. And then? Well, it will be Superman by James Gunn in July, let's see!
