Telegram Introduces NFT Gifts Feature that allows users to send digital gifts to friends and convert them into “Stars.” Pavel Durov, founder of Telegram, announced this innovative addition on October 6, emphasizing its potential to improve user engagement and gifting experiences.
The new Gifts feature allows users to celebrate important moments by sending animated digital gifts accompanied by personalized messages. Once received, these rewards can optionally be displayed on the recipient's profile or converted into Telegram Stars. Stars act as an internal currency within Telegram, which can be used to support content creators or purchase services in the Telegram mini-app.
Telegram Introduces NFT Rewards Feature
To send a gift, users simply visit the recipient's profile and select the option to send a gift. They can include personalized messages and emojis with their gifts, and there's even the option to hide their name, so only the recipient knows the identity of the sender.
An important aspect of this reward is its limited edition version, which users can convert into non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the TON network in the future. Once converted, these NFTs will be able to be traded and auctioned outside of Telegram, with ownership permanently recorded on the blockchain.
In addition to the Rewards feature, Telegram has introduced a new platform for businesses that simplifies user phone number verification. For just $0.01 per user, businesses can send verification codes via Telegram, making the process faster, cheaper, and more secure than traditional SMS or other alternatives. Users will receive these codes instantly in a special chat on Telegram.
Additionally, Telegram has made significant improvements to video chat and content reporting methods, improving security and user experience. These changes not only introduce new capabilities but also strengthen Telegram's position as a versatile platform for communication and business.

- Open the intended recipient's profile.
- Click the three dots icon (⋮ or ⋯) at the top of the profile page.
- Select “Send Gift” from the drop-down menu.
- Choose the gift you want and optionally include a personalized message or emoji.
