The name of Taylor Swift has long been associated with the third installment of the saga dedicated to the masked mercenary, Deadpool & Wolverine. Rumors saw the pop singer hiding behind the mask of Lady Deadpool, which had been fueled by the closeness displayed between her and the film's crew, notably during an American football match of her companion, Travis Kelce.
Godmother to one of the couple's children, Taylor Swift has also crossed paths with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds in her professional life. The Deadpool actor makes a cameo in the music video for “You Need to Calm Down”which explained why fans suspected she would return the favor in her film. A Swift song can also be heard on the soundtrack of It Ends With Us (Never again), Blake Lively's next film.
Let's also remember that part of the film's promotion relied on the imagination of the Swifties, the singer's fan community, and in particular a poster showing the intertwined hands of Wade Wilson/Deadpool and Logan/Wolverine wearing the friendship bracelets that are exchanged by the thousands during the singer's concerts. “Shake it off”.
However, this hypothesis is refuted shortly before the release of the film. No Taylor Swift in the MCU… or at least, not yet. Indeed, the singer plans to make an incursion into the superhero universe but given her busy schedule, it is not for right away.
A setback that did not prevent Taylor Swift from supporting her couple of friends, and inviting her fans to travel to discover this third part in theaters. In an Instagram story, the Pennsylvanian singer published a photo where she poses with Shawn LevyBlake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. In the caption, she writes:
“Over the past few years, I have watched one of my best friends on this planet pour his entire heart, soul, sweat, time, energy, jokes, pain, joy, rebellion, darkness, and magic into this film. He has created the best work of his life, and this film is a portal to joy, an escape, and a six-pack sandwich. I don’t know how he did it.
But that's Hugh! These other strangers got into the picture and we were too polite to ask them to leave.
