While season 1 has just ended, the creators of the Disney Plus series tell us they want to go on an adventure again.
Season 1 of the new series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew has just ended. And no, there is no post-credits scene to tease a possible sequel…
Spoiler alert!
In this finale, the children managed to defeat the pirates who had invaded At-Attin and destroyed the supervisor (a giant artificial intelligence governing all systems on the planet). They were able to warn the New Republic and X-Wings launched a fearsomely effective raid. Jod Na Nawood (Jude Law) lost. This orphan from the Galaxy who became a Padawan after being taken in by a Jedi on the run following Order 66, revealed that he had completely lost faith in the universe after seeing his Master being executed by the Empire before his eyes. Jod is thus a troubled villain, who could still find his redemption over the course of a season 2.
Because a season 2 is entirely possible! The director Jon Watts and the screenwriter Christopher Ford in any case want to make a sequel to Skeleton Crew as they confided to Première:
“We want to continue to follow these children. To see them grow” tell us the two creators behind the new Disney Plus series. Watts and Ford even explain that there would be something natural in continuing the adventures of Fern, Wim and the others: “Star Wars has always had something serial about it. Even at the time of the cinema saga, George Lucas spoke of Episodes…”
But nothing has been ordered by Disney yet. So a certain amount of time could pass before this hypothetical season 2. We understand between the lines that, if we one day find the tape of Skeleton Crewthey will have become adolescents:
“We are not in the idea of filming the sequel quickly, of doing it as quickly as possible before our children are too old. On the contrary, we want to find them again when they have grown up a little. This first season shows this what they do at this age We would like to be able to jump back in time to see what they have become and how they have changed, as they get a little older…”
Thus, we could find Wim at the controls of an X-Wing, which seems to be his new dream at the end of the season…
In short, if there has never been The Goonies 2its descendant version Star Wars might have better luck…
