The Kurosawa remake will not be his last film.
While he is currently preparing a remake of High and Lowby Akira Kurosawa (1963), Spike Lee has confirmed that this will not be his last film. The New York director still has ideas…
Guest of the fourth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (via THR), he explains that he is only 67 years old, which still leaves him time to do things:
“Retirement? How old was Kurosawa when he made his last film? 81! Yeah, so I have time left. I'm blessed… If you're able to make a living doing what you love, it's 'is a blessing… And as I got older, I realized that my destiny was to become a filmmaker.'
