“Nothing has been ruled out. Things are progressing well,” the screenwriter assured on social networks.

Last year, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Versecontinuation of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Animated Feature category. And although it went home empty-handed, the new adventures of the hero Miles Morales discovering Spider-Man variants in the four corners of the Multiverse won over the audience – admiring this innovative animation that mixed different artistic proposals. The reception was triumphant and we were assured that Miles Morales would soon return with Spider Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. But when and how?

Originally scheduled for March 2024, the film ended up being postponed due to the Hollywood strike. Since then, fans have had to be patient. The only certainty on this subject is that it will not use images generated by artificial intelligence under any circumstances. But for a few days now, a rumor has been panicking fans on the web.

Frontline informant Jeff Sneider shared in his latest newsletter information regarding the next installment of the Spider-Verse. According to him, Sony would have deleted a large part of the work done on the film when it was almost finished, and this due to creative differences. Which would push back its release to around 2026. Or even 2027.

Some people's spider-sense immediately kicked in, starting with the franchise's composer, Daniel Pemberton, who tweeted in response:

“Don't you think that some of the information you see on the Internet is not always completely true?”

He was followed by the screenwriter himself, Chris Miller, who denied the rumor on his social networks: “Nothing has been ruled out. Things are progressing well.”

This should reassure fans and confirm the words of the original voice actor of Spider-Man from India, Karan Soni, who declared last August to Times of India that the recording of the voices could start in a few months:

“We will start recording for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse in a few months, it's so great. The movie is in full production. It's animation, so things are different, and take longer. We'll see when it's ready and comes out, but I'm very excited.”

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse still has no official release date, but the original cast will be back: Hailee Steinfeld (Gwen Stacy), Shameik Moore (Miles Morales), as well as all those who lend their voices to the countless variations of the hero.
