In recent years, the name Simone Biles has become synonymous with greatness.

The American gymnast superstar added to her already impressive list of achievements this summer in Paris, winning three more Olympic gold medals. Biles also showed off a necklace featuring a “GOAT” pendant at the Summer Games.

As the custom jewelry made waves, other athletes and fans began sharing their reactions to Biles subtly weighing in on the debate over her status as the greatest gymnast of all time.

The 27-year-old was a guest on “The Tonight Show” this week. At one point during her interview with host Jimmy Fallon, Biles was asked how she felt about being named GOAT.

“You’re revered. People call you the GOAT,” the talk show host and comedian said. “And you are the GOAT.”

She went on to explain that being called the GOAT serves as a reminder not only to her supporters, but also to her detractors.

“Well, I think it's fun to play,” Biles told Fallon. “Obviously, all my fans and people have embraced me and loved me and supported me throughout my journey, but also [it’s for] the haters, because there are always comments like, “Stop calling her the GOAT. She's not the GOAT.”

“So it makes people happy, and then it makes them angry,” she said.

Anyone hoping to get a replica of Biles' necklace will face a considerable hurdle. The jeweler who made the original necklace has vowed to “never” reproduce it.

“This is an exclusive, one-of-a-kind creation made for Simone, which is truly extraordinary,” Janet Heller of Janet Heller Fine Jewelry told People last month. “Simone is one of a kind, and as a result, I feel like a goat [necklace] should be too.”

Biles' unique piece featured 546 diamonds and took nearly eight weeks to make.

“We hand-drilled and hand-set every single diamond, and there are 546 of them. So it was a very laborious and time-consuming task,” the jeweler explains. “I have the most incredible jewelers and master craftsmen, and they executed the job perfectly.”
