An adaptation directed by Sam Hargrave, who notably directed Chris Hemsworth as Tyler Rake.
It's a game almost as old as Super Mario. Launched in 1987, the saga Shinobi of SEGA will be released in cinemas. Universal Pictures will adapt the video game into a film. And for this, the studio signed the director Sam Hargravewho notably directed Chris Hemsworth in Tyler Rake for Netflix.
What will the legendary “hack-and-slash” look like in a feature film version? We don't know anything about it yet. Plot details have not been confirmed, but Shinobi technically follows Joe Musashi, a modern-day ninja who takes on evil. This will surely make for an action movie with ninjas.
He has cut down bad guys over the course of fifteen titles, which have sold more than five million copies to date. Note that a new part has been announced in 2023 (no release date yet).

SEGA has already successfully carried Sonic on the big screen. It was with Paramount. The Universal studio, for its part, also met with great success by making Super Mario Bros. the movie And Five Nights at Freddy. It remains to be seen whether the brand Shinobi is quite strong.
For now, no names have been leaked for the casting. Ken Kobayashi (Sunny) writes the screenplay.
