Shapiro Administration unveils six new license plates to honor Pennsylvania veterans

The Shapiro administration announced a new selection of military-themed license plates will now be available in honor of state veterans. In a statement Tuesday, the administration said six new license plates honoring veterans will be available statewide. Three of the new plates, the statement said, will recognize service members who received medals or honors for individual achievements or deployments. The new plates will keep the standard license plate colors of white, blue, and gold and bear a graphic of the medal awarded. According to the statement, the plates include:Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal Registration PlateOperation Inherent Resolve Veterans Plate Borinqueneers Congressional Gold Medal Registration Plate The other three plates, the statement said, will recognize women veterans. Two of these types of plates are available for motorcycles, and the third is for passenger cars or trucks.According to the statement, the three additional plates include: Honoring Our Women Veteran Motorcycle Registration Plate Women Veteran Motorcycle Registration Plate Women Veteran Registration Plate Plates will have a fee of $26 and will be available for use on cars and trucks with a registered gross weight of no more than 14,000 pounds.Special forms and documents are needed upon requesting these specialty plates.
