Severe Weather Alert Day in the Pittsburgh area on Saturday

UNATTENDED WITH FIREWORKS. IN TODAY’S BEEN A BEAUTIFUL DAY SO FAR. LOTS OF SUNSHINE IS GOING TO BE A BEAUTIFUL FINISH AS WELL, BUT TEMPERATURES ARE INCHING UP AND IT’S GOING TO BE A HOT ONE FOR US TODAY. ACTION CAMERA SHOWS A FEW HIGH CLOUDS 77 AT THE AIRPORT. WINDS ARE SOUTHEAST AT SIX MILES PER HOUR. IT’S A LITTLE MUGGY, FEELS A COUPLE DEGREES WARMER THAN THE ACTUAL AIR TEMPERATURE, AND OUR TEMPERATURES ARE ON TRACK TO CONTINUE WARMING INTO THE MIDDLE AND UPPER 80S AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE DAY TODAY WITH A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS. BUT MORE SUNSHINE THAN ANYTHING ELSE. AND WE’RE SETTING THE STAGE FOR A VERY HUMID NIGHT TONIGHT. MOST OF THE CLOUDS, AT LEAST THE THICKER CLOUDS, ARE NORTH OF THE CITY, CLOSER TO I-80, AND WE’LL SEE CLOUDS KIND OF PASSING THROUGH AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE DAY TODAY. BUT AGAIN, WE ARE DRY. SO OUTDOOR PLANS ARE GOOD. GOOD TO GO. AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS TONIGHT, CLOUDS WILL INCREASE. IT’S A MUGGY START. WE’RE STARTING IN THE 70S AND THEN TOMORROW MORNING WE’LL BE WATCHING RAIN SHOWERS, ESPECIALLY ALONG AND NORTH OF I-80, AND THEY COULD DRIFT AS FAR SOUTH AS THE CITY TOMORROW MORNING. ANY RAIN TOMORROW IS GOOD AS THAT WILL HELP KEEP OUR TEMPERATURES IN CHECK AND LIMIT A SEVERE THREAT LATER ON IN THE DAY. AS WE ENTER THE AFTERNOON HOURS, THOUGH, WE’LL WATCH FOR A ROUND OF SHOWERS AND STORMS ARRIVING. THIS IS TIED CLOSER TO THE COLD FRONT, GENERALLY STARTING TO ARRIVE BETWEEN ABOUT TWO AND FOUR TOMORROW AFTERNOON. THESE STORMS HAVE THE CAPABILITY TO GET STRONG TO SEVERE. THEY SHOULD SWING THROUGH AS WE HEAD TOWARDS FIVE 6:00. WITH MOST OF THE RAIN GONE BY EIGHT AND THEN WE’LL SEE JUST A LEFTOVER SHOWER TO START YOUR SUNDAY. SO WE ARE WATCHING FOR THE CHANCE OF SEVERE WEATHER TOMORROW. ALL MODES ARE POSSIBLE BECAUSE OF THAT. TOMORROW IS THE SEVERE WEATHER ALERT DAY. HEAVY RAIN THAT COULD CAUSE SOME FLASH FLOODING, DAMAGING WINDS, SOME HAIL AND ISOLATED TORNADOES CANNOT BE RULED OUT TOMORROW, SO MAKE SURE IF YOU ESPECIALLY HAVE OUTDOOR PLANS THAT YOU ARE STAYING WEATHER AWARE AS YOU HEAD THROUGH THE DAY TOMORROW. AGAIN, TOMORROW IS THE SEVERE WEATHER ALERT DAY. WE’LL CLIMB TO 88 TODAY THOUGH. TODAY IS FANTASTIC. TOMORROW IS THE DAY WE’RE WATCHING AT 8682 ON SUNDAY. OUTSIDE OF MORNING SHOWERS THOUGH, WE ARE DRY ON SUNDAY, SO IF YOU CAN PUSH PLANS FROM SATURDAY TO SUNDAY AFTERNOON, YOU’LL BE IN MUCH BETTER SHAPE. MONDAY IS FANTASTIC, LOWER HUMIDITY AND COMFORTABLE. HIGH OF ONLY 78. MIDDLE 80S TUESDAY NEAR 90. WEDNESDAY. THEN WE’LL WATCH FOR A SMALL SHOWER. CHANCE.
