Should The Sunnydale Slayer have a sequel? “Today we need heroines like her, more than ever in my opinion.”
She changed her mind! Sarah Michelle Gellar is now open to the idea of relaunching Buffy the Vampire Slayer. While the actress has always said she was against the idea of bringing the cult series back from the dead, she confided this weekend on Drew Barrymore's talk show that the successful return of Sex and the City and its participation in the new Dexter made him realize that it was possible to do this well!
“I used to say no to Buffy coming back, because she's in her bubble and that's perfect. But after seeing And Just Like That (the sequel to Sex and the City) and played in Dexter: Original Sins, I realize that there are ways to make it work, so I'm starting to think that maybe it would be cool to do it.”
How ? With whom ? Sarah Michelle Gellar doesn't know anything about it yet, but she believes that the prospects are numerous, as Buffy is “her own universe. There are many possibilities. And in this world, today, we need heroines like her, more than ever in my opinion.”
Warner Bros. is warned: the studio may launch discussions with a view to relaunching the flagship series from the end of the 1990s.
