SUMMER SOLSTICE. CHECK. YEAH, AND BEING THE SOLSTICE TOMORROW, THE OFFICIAL SOLSTICE TIME LOCALLY IS 4:21 A.M. PARTY HAS PROVIDED IT TO PERRINE HOUSEHOLD IN MIMOSAS AS WELL. EARLY TOMORROW MORNING, NINE HOURS AND 16 MINUTES OF DAYLIGHT AGAIN AFFECTIONATELY KNOWN AS THE SHORTEST DAYLIGHT DAY OF THE YEAR, MID TO UPPER 30S ACROSS THE AREA RIGHT NOW ACTUALLY TOUCHING 40 IN MORGANTOWN SOUTH. TEMPERATURES WILL STAY ABOVE FREEZING THE REST OF THE AFTERNOON. SO THAT SAID, WHAT CONTINUATION OF FLAKES AND FLURRIES THAT ARE FLYING RIGHT NOW AS THEY HIT THE PAVEMENT, THEY’RE GENERALLY MELTING, SO ROADS ARE GOING TO BE WET. LITTLE ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS EXPECTED ON GRASSY AREAS. OVERALL, THE TREND IS FOR SNOW SHOWERS FLURRIES TO TAPER OFF AS THE AFTERNOON PROGRESSES, BUT THE CLOUDS ARE GOING TO CONTINUE TO LINGER. TEMPERATURES WILL LINGER ALSO IN THAT MID TO UPPER 30 DEGREE RANGE RIGHT THROUGH THIS EVENING SHOULD BE DOWN BELOW FREEZING AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT INTO THE 20S TOMORROW MORNING, AND MANY OF US WILL STAY IN THE 20S DURING THE DAY TOMORROW AND FOR THAT MATTER, DURING THE SECOND HALF OF THE WEEKEND AS WELL. CAN’T RULE OUT A COUPLE OF LOCATION DEPENDENT FLURRIES TOMORROW. EVERYONE GETS SUNSHINE ON SUNDAY AND MONDAY WITH TEMPERATURES MODERATING QUICKLY BY THE EARLY PART OF NEXT WEEK. THIS IS 4:00 THIS AFTERNOON. YOU CAN SEE THE WIDESPREAD FLAKES AND FLURRIES THAT HAVE BEEN FLYING THROUGH THE MORNING. NOW EARLY AFTERNOON HAVE TAPERED OFF BY THAT POINT. THEN TOMORROW AGAIN, LOCATION DEPENDENT. THERE COULD BE A BAND OF SOME LAKE EFFECT FLAKES AND FLURRIES COMING DOWN ACROSS PORTIONS OF LAWRENCE AND BEAVER COUNTY IN THE MORNING. THAT BAND WILL WOBBLE AT TIMES THROUGH THE AFTERNOON, SO PART OF THE AREA WILL BE DODGING FLAKES AND FLURRIES FROM TIME TO TIME. OTHER PARTS OF THE AREA WILL SEE SOME SUNSHINE FROM TIME TO TIME. IF YOU GET CAUGHT UNDERNEATH THAT BAND, PROBABLY LOOKING AT LESS THAN A HALF OF AN INCH OF SNOW ON GRASSY AREAS. PRIMARILY YOUR 4-DAY PLUS 4 MORE 30 TOMORROW, 27 ON SUNDAY, THEN TEMPERATURES REBOUND QUICKLY 38 ON MONDAY. HOW ABOUT THE HOLIDAY? YOU SAY 40 ON CHRISTMAS EVE WITH CLOUDY SKIES, 43 ON CHRISTMAS DAY, CHRISTMAS EVE NIGHT. THERE COULD BE A COUPLE OF LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS MOVING THROUGH THE AREA, BUT GENERALLY CHRISTMAS DAY WILL BE QUIET, ALBEIT CLOUDY.
