Peggy Carter will also be back in Avengers: Doomsday

Hayley Atwell will join Chris Evans in the cast.

Peggy Carter and Steve Rogers are definitely inseparable. While Chris Evans expected to reprise his role in the next Avengers: Doomsdaywe learn that Hayley Atwell will also make a return.

She will reprise her role as Agent Carter, but Deadline, which revealed the information, does not yet know what exact role she will play. Indeed, in the classic world of the MCU, Peggy Carter arrives in Captain America (2011) to support Steve Rogers. Then she got her own miniseries, Agent Carter (in 2013). Atwell has continued to appear in various MCU projects over the years. Peggy has been back and forth in the Marvel Universe until Avengers: Endgame (2019) where she had her happy ending with Steve.

She therefore grew old alongside her dear one. But we met another Peggy, from a parallel Earth, in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022). She then played the MCU's version of Captain Carter, where she takes the serum in place of Steve Rogers (who never becomes Captain America).

So, which version of Peggy will we see? The original or Captain Carter? It's also unclear which version of Cap will play Chris Evans (Nomad?), facing Robert Downey Jr. became Victor Von Doom, aka Doctor Doom…

Avengers: Doomsday will be released in May 2026 in cinemas.
