“I think it stops the film from being too clichéd…”, justifies Daisy Edgar-Jones, who did exchange a kiss with Glen Powell on the set.

Twisters has started strong this weekend in the United States. With $80.5 million collected there in three days, Lee Isaac Chung's blockbuster, led by Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell and an unleashed nature, has already been seen by many spectators. Many seem to have had a good time watching this great show perfectly in line with the 1996 disaster movie with Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton, but some voices are raised against a detail: it would be missing a kissing scene exchanged between the two protagonists for this entertainment to be absolutely perfect.

Worse: Internet users have already found the sequence in question, a video of the shooting filmed in public, which proves that Daisy and Glen were indeed filmed kissing for what should have been the climax of Twisters. Why cut this scene, if it was actually in the can? We can't really blame the two actors for playing it badly… their chemistry is obvious in the video below:

Does Twisters have any breath? [critique]

“I think this cut is related to a note from Spielberg, right?”reacted Daisy Edgar-Jones, questioned by Collider on the absence of this kissing scene. Steven Spielberg is in fact the executive producer of Twistersvia his company Amblin, as for the first opus. The director of Jurassic Park So he had a say in the major decisions made on this film.

“I think it keeps the film from being too clichéd, continues the actress. I also think it's great that we're experiencing this as a story to follow. This is not the end of their story. They are both united by the passion they share.”

“I also feel like this is not a movie about finding love, Glen Powell continues, going into a little more detail (so watch out for the spoilers). VSIt's more about Kate getting back to what she loves, which is chasing tornadoes. That's what you really see at the end of the movie. They share that same passion, which is reinvigorated by everything that's happened to them, and her perception of 'the House' was reinforced. I think a kiss in the middle of all that wouldn't have represented our goal at the end of the movie. That's a good point by Spielberg. That's why that kid is still here. He's amazing!”
